Cameron Russel: Looks aren’t everything. Believe me, I’m a model.

Cameron Russell admits she won “a genetic lottery”: she’s tall, pretty and an underwear model. But don’t judge her by her looks. In this fearless talk, she takes a wry look at the industry that had her looking highly seductive at barely 16-years-old. (Filmed at TEDxMidAtlantic.)

Cameron Russell has stomped the runways for Victoria’s Secret and Chanel, and has appeared in many magazines. But she is much more than just a pretty face.

Listen to what she says about looks and see if you agree. She talks about goal setting, and life purpose. She is a down to earth person, who has experienced many things and yet can see the real beauty within a person. Listen and share what you get out of this presentation.

An Enemy Called Average

This is a powerful article, read it and let me know what your thoughts are. Leave a comment or share with others.

An excerpt from
An Enemy Called Average
by John Mason

All successful people are faithful in the small things. There is power in taking small steps.

Many people are not moving forward today simply because they were not willing to take the small step placed before them. If you have a dream to go into any particular area, you should leap at the opportunity—no matter how small—to move in the direction of your dream. For example: if you dream of being a college basketball coach and are sitting at home waiting for an invitation from Roy Williams at North Carolina University, you should know that call will never come. You need to find an opportunity to coach somewhere, anywhere. Find a young person, a young team. Jump in and coach with all of your heart, like you would if you were coaching at the highest level.

Don’t be afraid to take small steps. There’s something powerful about Continue reading

212° The Extra Degree

Think about your life purpose, how you hold yourself accountable, what some of your life goals are, what and how you communicate with others. The 212° concept is one of the most powerful communication ideas.

If you’re not familiar, here’s the idea:

At 211 degrees…water is hot.
At 212 degrees…it boils.
And with boiling water, comes steam.
And steam can power a locomotive.
And, it’s that one extra degree that…
Makes all the difference.

So many times, in business and in life, it’s that one extra degree of effort that separates the good from the great.

What I love about the 212° idea is that you can use it to fit your own needs. It may be 212° service that you’d like to reinforce, or 212° attitude, leadership, or quality. Or maybe, you’ll choose to build your entire culture around the 212° concept…to differentiate you from your competition.

The real beauty of 212° is the simplicity of the idea. Once explained…everybody gets it. And once you get it…it’s hard to forget!

How do you show up? Are you a 212 degree person, would love to hear your thoughts, share them in the comment section below.

Shovel Holders?!?

What do you do when you encounter the shovel holders in your life? You know the ones, those who on the outward appearance say they support you and yet are lurking behind you ready to pounce at any move you might make that would be against what they believe to be in the best interest of “things”. Staying true to yourself and what you are doing in your life is really important. Keeping the promises that you make to yourself helps you build integrity and self esteem and by doing this helps you to overcome the roadblocks that stop you from the joy you want to experience in your life. What happens when you make choices that potentially hurt? Are you willing to accept 100% responsibility for the actions you take? In order to move forward with your life, you must recognize that there is a potential to make all kinds of mistakes – or as I would call them – learning opportunities. Each one of us WILL make mistakes, and have challenges in our lives, it’s what we decide to do with these learning opportunities that help us move forward. Passing, what I call, judgement free awareness is so important. Also see the perfection of the learning opportunity that is presenting itself is so very important as well. One of the first steps in Seizing your life is to Love yourself. Look yourself in the mirror and see into your eyes and from your heart tell yourself that you “Love” you, I mean truly “Love” you, accepting the person that you see. This is so powerful and at times can be very emotional.

Would love to hear how you handle the shovel holders in your life and what you do to “Love” yourself, feel free to contact below.
